Urge Senate for a Green Economic Recovery Plan
Tens of thousands of you spoke out and helped pass an historic green economic investment plan out of the House of Representatives. But now we need to fight back an effort by polluters and make sure President Obama’s economic recovery program is clean and green. Majority Leader Reid,
President Obama has laid out a strong vision for a green approach to economic recovery; fueled by investments in clean energy, efficiency and public transportation. This is the future for our country and the H.R. 1 approved by the house gets us headed down the right path.
I urge you to keep the Senate version of President Obama’s economic recovery plan clean and green. Specifically, reject subsidies and loan guarantees for dirty and dangerous sources of energy like nuclear and coal, and make sure that transportation funding is directed to public transportation and fix-it-first projects that are both the best strategies for reducing pollution and getting our economy back on track.
